You might have heard about “self-love” before, often in discussions about body image or treating yourself to something nice. But what does self-love really mean?
At its heart, self-love is about fully accepting and valuing yourself—body, mind, and soul. It involves having confidence in your decisions, appreciating both your strengths and weaknesses, and taking care of your physical and mental needs.
Self-love isn’t a one-time achievement or something you’re born with. It’s a journey that evolves over time, with each day offering a chance to practice and grow.
What Is Self-Love?
Self-love is all about accepting and caring for yourself, both inside and out. It includes appreciating your body as it is, being kind to yourself when things get tough, and doing things that make you feel good.
Self-care, like taking time to relax and recharge, is part of self-love. When you love yourself, you value your own happiness, have confidence in your abilities, and feel comfortable with who you are.
Why Is It Hard to Love Yourself?
Loving yourself may feel difficult at times. You might notice that you’re quick to criticize yourself or doubt your decisions. These negative thoughts can become a habit, making it harder to be kind to yourself. Just like any habit, it takes effort and practice to replace self-criticism with self-love.
On top of that, today’s world of social media and constant information can make it harder to feel good about yourself. It’s easy to compare yourself to others, especially when we only see the highlights of their lives online.
From ads promoting perfect looks to Instagram photos of glamorous lifestyles, these images can make you feel like you’re not measuring up.
Remember, self-love is a journey. It takes time and practice to change negative thoughts into positive ones and to start truly appreciating yourself. Just like building any new habit, loving yourself requires patience and effort.
It's better to love yourself before u love someone else....
BalasPadamAgree.
Itupun salah satu bentuk self love.
Self love yourself
